SouthLake Church is blessed to be led by Rev. Peter Scheidt.

Ordained by the Presbyterian Church in America,

Peter is passionate about teaching God’s Word,

but also about reaching the Lake Norman community

and being the hands and feet of Christ to those with a need.

Peter Scheidt - Assistant Pastor

Rev. Peter Scheidt grew up in Athens, Georgia.  He was blessed to be raised in a Christian home and became a believer in Jesus at a very early age...but it wasn’t until high school that he understood what it meant to be broken and truly found out what God’s grace is like.  He went to college at Georgia Tech, earned a degree in Aerospace Engineering, and spent nearly 5 years working for Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Savannah, Georgia, before God called him to ministry.

After spending a summer doing deep wilderness ministry in the Rockies, Peter moved to Charlotte in 2014 to study at Reformed Theological Seminary.  During this time he met Bekah, the love of his life; they married in 2018. Peter received a Master of Divinity in 2018 and has been serving at SouthLake ever since.  He is enraptured by the beauty and goodness of Jesus and desperately desires for others to come to know Him too, because knowing Him changes everything.

In Peter’s spare time you might find him spending time with his bride, reading good books, doing anything he possibly can outside, or working as a raft guide at the US National Whitewater Center.
