Meet the staff.

Leaders are servants. With the responsibility of teaching, vision, and strategy, our leadership team serves the people of SouthLake Church and our community. Our pastors guide our faith family while understanding that Jesus is the true chief shepherd.

SouthLake Church called Ben Ressler to serve as the Senior Pastor in the spring of 2026. He and his family are originally from the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. After moving to the Charlotte region in 2008, they became active members at Providence PCA Church in Concord, NC, where Ben led the music ministry and youth group beginning in 2013. He was ordained in the PCA in 2020 after completing his degree at LAMP Seminary and became an associate pastor at Providence PCA Church that same year. Ben is married to Jill, and they have two children, Corban and Tess. In his spare time he enjoys playing guitar and reading.

Jason Piteo answered God’s call to be the Assistant Pastor at SouthLake Church in 2023. In addition to his duties at the church, he is also the Spiritual Life Director of SouthLake Christian Academy. Before arriving at SouthLake, Jason planted PCA churches in East Charlotte and most recently Strongsville, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. Jason had a career in the Information Technology field before entering ministry, utilizing his degree from Purdue University, where he also met his wife, Jill. They have been blessed with six children, and in his free time, Jason enjoys playing disc golf and watching Premier League football (soccer).

Session Members (actively serving elders)

Elders are responsible for the government and spiritual oversight of the church, teaching and shepherding its people, and modeling for them the Christian life.

Deacons (actively serving)

Deacons are responsible for overseeing the physical and spiritual care for the needs of the people and the church facilities and budget.
